Stags boss Peter Shirtliff has strongly denied any moves have been made for club captain and top scorer Richie Barker.
Rumours had been circulating this week that Grimsby had been taking an interest, but after manager Russell Slade had denied the story, Stags boss Peter Shirtliff has now also poured cold water on the stories.
"Simply not true" he told the official Mansfield Town website this morning
"Nobody has phoned me about Richie and speaking to the chairman I have been informed by him that no body has contacted him either so as far as i am concerned he is going nowhere.
"He is contracted for another season, I think that he is enjoying his time here. He is Captain and playing well and hopefully we can go onto better things"
Barker has caught the eye so far this season and is line to swoop all the end of season awards thanks to his performance in front of goal.
