After being enticed from retirement, Boudling is hoping a long run in the Stags team will lead to more goals.
In his second spell at the club, he has already hit two goals in as many league games, and is looking for a healthy return this campaign.
He told the Nottingham Evening Post on Tuesday "Last season I'd been out for a year and that makes a big difference," he said. "This season I'm really looking to kick on and have a good season.
"The difficulty last season was getting back up to fitness. I did a fair amount of training, but you can't replicate playing football.
"I've come back this season half a stone lighter and I feel a lot better for it."
