Stags quick fire striker Simon Brown is looking forward to the new campaign, and can't wait to get started and put his injury troubles behind him, speaking to the Nottingham Evening Post, Brown said "I am looking to get past the 20-goal mark and hopefully I will get there. I got 12 last year when I was in and out of the side.
"So this year if I can stay fit then I think I can achieve it and if I do then I will be happy.
"I did quite well playing alongside Richard Barker and we also have other good strikers in Danny Reet, Chris Beardsley and Adam Birchall, who can play up there if required.
"There is competition for places and I know I am not guaranteed a starting place by any means.
"But with those players and myself we have plenty of options and the potential for goals and I don't think they will be a problem this season."
Brown was also full of praise for his strike partner Richie Barker, and went on to say "Richie has been superb since he has been here and he has certainly helped me with my game.
"He is always talking to you when you are on the pitch and telling you where you should be making your runs."
