Stags - Transfer wheels are turning

DESPITE holidays for mangement and players, there is still some promising transfer activity going on down at Field Mill.

Stags are hopeful of three new signings soon with others to follow.
A proposed deal to bring a Premiership right back to the club is said to 'look very promising'.

Another target, an experienced right hand sided player who has played League One and Two more recently but higher in the past, has also gone away on holiday to think over an offer from the Stags.
And Mansfield are on the verge of a real coup as they seek to sign a highly promising 16-year-old who is being offered professional forms as soon as he turns 17 later this year.

The only other youngster to be given such a deal was Alex John-Baptiste.
He has a wealth of offers from clubs in higher divisions at home as well as clubs from abroad, but Stags believe they are close to persuading him that Field Mill is currently the place to break through into the first team for exciting young players.

One Sunday newspaper has linked Stags with Rotherham winger Andy Monkhouse (25), released after a season plagued by injury.
