Cheltenham Match Reaction....

Stags boss Peter Shirtliff said "I'm disappointed in the players but I won't be too critical because they've worked hard to get us in the situation where they achieved safety.

"I will just put this day down to experience and move on.

"It did answer a few questions about players I want to keep here for me. I had most of it in my mind anyway but this did confirm a few things. We have some players here who think they are better than they are.

"Cheltenham have certainly got a chance in the play-offs. They've got an organised unit and have a big physical presence about them.

"They have a way of playing they all understand which is what we want. They have 11 guys who go out and have a go.

"They are not a big club and expectancy levels there are not as high as somewhere like Grimsby. But they've got into the play-offs and good luck to them."

Cheltenham manager John Ward "I was absolutely delighted with that, it was something a bit different and a bit special.

"I've told the lads now to enjoy themselves but to keep next week in mind.

"That result will give us heart as we go into two big games.

"We'll enjoy this now but then must put it out of the way and start preparing for next week.

"Another result like this would be great against Wycombe but I expect both games will be close with some good football. They want to play and we want to play."
