Speaking in todays Nottingham Evening Post, Dawson said he hadn't yet been offered a new contract deal, but hinted that he would be more than willing to sign one "When I first came to the club two years ago I had never played at this level before and I found it quite difficult."
"I'm not meaning to be big headed, but I think I have done myself justice more this season and I can make more of a difference to the team.
"But I can still get a lot better in certain areas and I feel the fans haven't seen me at my peak yet.
"I know I need to score more goals and that I can be better when I get on the ball. I'm far from the complete player.
Dawson is one of a number of players whose deals run out this coming summer.
"But I'm enjoying playing and I just hope the manager wants me to stay because I haven't heard anything yet."
