Midfielder Dawson, who had originally turned down the clubs offer of a new deal, has now decided to accept the offer, and stay on a one year contract at Field Mill.
Although it is still obvious that the young player is pretty much unhappy with the deal put in front of him, "I am just going to sign the original deal that was offered me in the first place," Dawson told the Nottingham Evening Post on Wednesday.
"Everyone knows I'm not happy about it, but I'm going to get my head down and play my football.
"I want to prove to myself I can play well at this kind of level. I thought I was doing that in the first half of last season before I was injured. I have been offered more money to play in Ireland, but it's not about that. I just want to play regularly, score a few goals and show people what I can do."
