I haven't signed anything yet for anyone and I don't want to leave Mansfield," he told the Nottingham Evening Post on Thursday.
"I think everyone knows I wasn't happy with the contract I was offered, but i am only looking for a slightly better deal, not a stupid contract.
"It's not me being big-headed. I know I was injured some of the time, but when I wasn't, I felt I played some good football.
"People might think it's all about the money, but it's more about feeling wanted by the club.
"I have had no contact from Mansfield and been trying to get hold of them, although I appreciate this is the time people are on their holidays.
"I 'm hoping that we can sit down and sort something out and I will be back for pre-season training next week."
