"I was pleased with the spirit we showed," he told the Mansfield CHAD.
Despite suffering with a stomach bug in the build up to the game, Dearden was able to take his place on the touchline and added "We didn't play as well as we can. But I have never seen the pitch there so lively and it was difficult to get it down and play.
"When we did manage it, I thought we passed it not to bad.
"I thought we rolled our sleeves up and showed a bit of fight.
"It was all a bit scrappy - a typical game against a side fighting for their lives.
"It was certainly a good atmosphere in the ground.
"We probably had the best chances of the game, particularly the header Martin Gritton missed. He was very disappointed with that.
"All in all 0-0 was probably a fair result."
