Stags chairman James Derry is said to be 'frustrated' by the ongoing rown supporters have with owner Keith Haslam, and speaking to the Mansfield CHAD this week, says it is about time the fans put it all behind them and moved on.
"It's time for the fans to put aside their historical prejudice, and give Billy and myself a chance to build for the future." he said.
"By staying away they are having a major impact on the signings we can bring to the club next season. It's so frustrating to me as a chairman, and particularly galling when we take 4,000 away fans to Meadow Lane.
"Since Christmas we are top of the form league behind Stockport and Hartlepool. Billy is working his socks off and is very positive about the club's future.
"We know if we can add two or three new players we can be a major force next year. But we need the supporters to vote with their feet, because this season will have an influence on the new campaign."
