After being shunted around different venues in the past year or so, the Stags may be on the verge of having a permanent home, according to new chairman James Derry "I am looking into it to see what I can do,'' Derry told the Nottingham Evening Post on Tuesday.
''It has to be one of the main priorities.
"We are talking to local councils about potential sites and we need to do more investigation.
"We don't want anything for nothing - we are prepared to pay - but we need somewhere regular.
"At the moment we are looking for a short-term site. In the long-term there is still the site at Beck Lane and we are keen to develop that.
"But with the time I have had at the club so far I have not had the chance to look into that as yet."
Boss Billy Dearden has already made his views clear just last month "The sooner Mansfield Town get their own training facilities then the quicker this club will progress,"
"We report here every day and then we have to phone round to see if we can go here or there.
"It does not make it easy attracting players here when they ask you to see the training facilities.
