D'Laryea Can't Wait

Speaking to the Mansfield CHAD website, D'Laryea said "To be honest it didn't take much thinking about, though I spoke to my family first," he said.
"I do not expect an automatic first team place here. Giles Coke and Stephen Dawson are good players and I am more defensive minded than them.
"There will be games when we need two attacking midfielders starting and I will have to accept that. But I know I can offer something a bit different to them.
"I know I am nowhere near the finished article yet and need first team experience to improve myself.
"My mum and dad have always made sure I kept my feet on the ground. You don't get anywhere being flashy or arrogant or thinking you are the star man."

"These are my team mates and my friends and when I had a weekend off I saw no reason not to come and watch my friends play," he said.
"During the time I was here I realised that we are a good team. It's just that consistency factor."

Stags boss Peter Shirtliff says "I think Jonathan will be a big player for Mansfield Town and I am delighted he's chosen to drop down from the Premiership and come here.
"It took a bit longer than we thought it would on the day over certain aspects of the contract and dealing with agents.
"But he is one I have pursued and I kept pestering Manchester City about him.
"I think the lad has made the right decision. To be a footballer you have got to be playing League football, not playing reserve football all your career.
"I am grateful to Stuart Pearce. He had a very responsible attitude and wanted what was best for the player.
"He told Jonathan that he had no need to leave Manchester City but that there was an opportunity at Mansfield for him to play League football and develop his career.
"His first team opportunities at Manchester City were limited so he came hree and grasped the nettle and did well during his time here on loan."

Meanwhile Laurence Wilson will not be available for the game with Macclesfield, his move to the Stags on loan didn't go through in time, and he will have to wait before getting his chance in the Stags line up.
