Mansfield have signed Manchester City midfielder Jonathan D'Laryea.

The 20-year-old has been on loan at Field Mill for the last three months and has now agreed to sign on a permanent basis - penning a two-and-a-half year deal with Mansfield.

Stags boss Peter Shirtliff has also signed Everton youngster Laurence Wilson on a one-month deal from Goodison.

Jonathan D'Laryea has joined Mansfield Town on a permanent deal from Manchester City.

The player joined the club in October, initially on loan and having enjoyed a successful spell, he decided that he wanted to make the move permanent.

The two clubs agreed a fee last week with D'Laryea agreeing a deal until 2008.

Speaking on the capture of D'Laryea, Mansfield manager Peter Shirtliff was delighted at the signing and believes he will be a player for the future.

"Jonathan will be a good signing for us and definitely a player to watch in the future," said Shirtliff.

"He has already shown that he is an athlete and doesn't miss much in terms of training and games.

"When he went back to Man City we missed him.

"He will definitely prove to be a good signing."

Meanwhile, a busy day at Field Mill has also seen Laurence Wilson arrive at the club whilst Jason Talbot has departed on loan to Port Vale.

Wilson joins on a one-month loan from Everton and will go straight into the squad for Saturday's game with Macclesfield.

Former Bolton trainee Talbot is training at Vale Park prior to his loan move that will officially begin a week after the close of the transfer window.
