The long running saga of Mansfield MP Alan Meale allegedly taking legal action over remarks over comments made on a supporters website, now appears to be over, following a meeting between the MP and supporter Mark Wells, who says he was a victim of mistaken identity over the claim.
Mark Wells, of Mansfield Woodhouse, who has waited four months for a reply from Mr Meale, went to meet the MP over this past weekend.
Pressure group Stags fans for Change held a small protest outside Mr Meale's offices as Mark went inside to meet the Mansfield MP, and also recorded events to highlight Mark's plight and outcome of the meeting.
A spokesman for Stags Fans for Change (SFFC), who have supported Mr Wells told the waiting press outside: "It is intolerable that a law-abiding citizen should be persecuted in this way. We have discovered that there are 13 different M Wells' in the Mansfield telephone directory."
