Gritton Disapointed

Having joined on loan from Lincoln City until the end of this campaign, the striker had hoped to impress enough to earn a more permanent deal, but has since been told that he will not be offered a contract to stay with the club.

"It would have been great to get something here but I can't complain because it's the manager's decision and this is what happens in football," Gritton told the Nottingham Evening Post on Thursday.

"I was pleased with my form when I first came as it was the first run of matches I had been given for some time.

"But I started to feel it a bit and that's when the goals dried up. The thing was, I didn't get the chance to play through the bad spell and get back on track.

"Even though we have had injuries there have still been a glut of good strikers available and I found myself dropped."

"I scored a few goals when we were struggling and I'm pleased I could contribute to staving off relegation.

"I have made some good friends here and I hope the club does well because they have a lot of good, young players
