The lads were very disappointed and I think they knew they had done enough to get something out of the game," Dearden told the Nottingham Evening Post on Monday.
"Their heads are down and there were a few arguments.
"That's one thing that they have to get into themselves - the desire to win - and I saw that against Stockport. The spirit is no problem.
"If they don't try hard then they shouldn't be in the game. I have always said that, but they gave me a lot against a side that have now won six on the bounce with clean sheets."
