Mansfield V Lincoln City at One Call Stadium - Match Preview

Stags wait on Murray

Mansfield boss Paul Cox would be without the services of Adam Murray for their FA Cup second round replay with Lincoln.

The midfielder has been suffering from a virus and is a doubt for the game having not trained this week.

His fellow Stags trained on a 3G surface to beat the frost on Monday with the pitch at the One Call Stadium covered until kick-off.

TV company ESPN have also provided fan heaters to help defrost the pitch overnight.

Cox has no other injury or suspension worries ahead of the tie and admitted it is hard not to get excited about the prospect of facing Barclays Premier League giants Liverpool in the third round.

"It is human nature to think of what could be," he told the Mansfield Chad. "We just have to concentrate on this game first and show the same mindset we showed on Saturday (when they beat Ebbsfleet 4-1).

"Liverpool are one of the biggest names in world football with an array of fabulous players. But we can't get carried away thinking beyond this game."

David Holdsworth is expected to recall several senior players for Lincoln.

The Imps boss rested five key members of his squad for Saturday's win at Dartford in preparation for the tie.

First-choice goalkeeper Paul Furman, along with defender Andrew Boyce and attackers Jake Sheridan, Alan Power and Jamie Taylor are all likely to return.

Midfielder Conal Platt is the only definite absentee as he continues his long road back from a broken leg.

Holdsworth admitted it has been a "horrible" week trying to juggle their league campaign with a crucial cup fixture.

"I've got to do what's right for the club," he told BBC Radio Lincolnshire. "It's been tough for me. It's been a horrible week, trying to do all the equations and get it right.

"We've got to protect the club. We've got to go fully loaded into the next game, which I think has grasped a lot of people. Managing that is quite tough."
