Following trouble at the Stags visit to Rochdale in November of 2006, it has now been revealed that dawn raids took place last week in and around the Mansfield area, with 5 arrests made.
Three men from Rainworth, one from Mansfield and another from Newark have been released on bail.
The 'incident' took place outside a pub not far from the ground, as rival supporters clashed.
The arrests follow similar dawn raids for trouble at Stags games in recent seasons. Not long ago, a massive operation took place following violence in the centre of Mansfield, as the Stags took on Lincoln. Fighting broke out as early as 11am as rival supporters fought pitch battles with each other.
14 people were arrested as a result, both from Mansfield and Lincoln.
Also, in recent seasons, trouble flared in Nottingham when Stags supporters were involved in fights with Shrewsbury Town supporters, with a number of arrests following on.
Police are determined to crack down on the hooligans, with Dept. Inspector Ash Wilson saying (speaking about the Lincoln operation) "The operation has successfully targeted those people of interest to our enquiry and appears to have sent shockwaves through hooligan circles."
