With his contract up in the summer, Stags current reserve keeper Carl Muggleton wants to extend his stay at Field Mill into next season.
"I have enjoyed it here and I would like to stay, but that is up to the management," Muggleton told the Nottingham Evening Post on Saturday.
"It seems to have worked out quite well for both parties this season. I've got my B coaching licences for goalkeeping and outfield, while Jason is coming on quite nicely. It is always frustrating not to be playing, although being involved on the bench does take a bit of an edge off it.
"I still want to be out there playing. But, when I first came here under Peter Shirtliff, the idea was to develop Jason as a keeper and we are doing that.
"I still want to contribute and will be ready if called upon, but it is good to see Jason doing well."
