The amount of injuires at St James Park seems to be making all the early headlines ahead of the FA Cup tie on Saturday, but as we all know, a long injury list cripples lower league teams, whilst the so called big boys can normally handle such situations by calling on a more than cabable reserve team.
By the looks of things so far, Newcastle could well be making up the most of their team on Saturday, by fielding some of their reserves, and although some teams do this by choice in the early rounds of the cup these days, it appears Newcastle have little option at the moment.
Newcastle United have now also made a desperate plea to Senegal to let Amady Faye play in the FA Cup clash with the Stags.
Newcastle already have out injured, Michael Owen, Emre, Scott Parker, Keiron Dyer, Steven Taylor, Stephen Carr and Shola Ameobi.
Shay Given is also playing on with a damaged Thumb.
The Stags meanwhile, will hope to have Simon Brown back from injury, and fresh to cause problems with his pace.
