Shirtliff happy with Stags squad
Mansfield manager Peter Shirtliff was upbeat despite his failure to add to his squad before the transfer window closed on ThursdayThe Stags boss had looked at a couple of loan deals to bolster his squad, but decided to wait, with the loan marker re-opening later this week.
"There were a couple of possibilities but nothing permanent," he told the club's official website. "In the end I decided just to wait a bit. If I want to bring someone in on loan then I can do that again after Thursday.
"But I don't think there is a lot wrong with the squad I have got and we are only five games into the season, so there is no panic.
"I don't see a reason to change things around too much at the moment.
"We do need to turn some of our draws into wins and we should have more points on the board than we have, but I am in no rush to dive in to get people on loan."
