Our Guide To Shrewsbury

Last updated : 15 November 2005 By Editor
Stags fans will be housed in the Station Road Terrace which can hold up to 2000 supporters, and will also have 500 seats available in the Main Stand. The Terrace area is only partially covered, whilst the Main Stand has a full roof attached.

There are two pubs close to the ground, the closest is "The Crown", which is on Abbey Foregate, with "The Dun Cow" not far away either. There is also a chip shop close to the ground which get's very popular with supporters.

If arriving by car : At the end of the M54 continue onto the A5. After about seven miles, there is a traffic island which is at the junction with the A49. Bear left at this island still following the A5. At the next traffic island, turn right towards Shrewsbury (signposted A5064 town centre/crematorium). Follow this road past Shrewsbury College and up to another island. At this island there is a large 'Nelson Column like statue' on your right. Take the 3rd exit (the football ground is signposted at this point) and this will take you down into Abbey Foregate. Follow the road down until you come to the Abbey (passing the Dun Cow pub on the left). The ground is further down on the right. There is plenty of car parking at the ground, although it can take time to filter out after the game, so try and park near the front.

Admission Prices:
Station End (Terrace) - Adults £13, Juniors/OAP's £8
Main Stand (Seating) - Adults £15, Juniors/OAP's £10

Programme Price is £2.50.

Stags fans need also to be aware that this fixture in the past has seen a lot of trouble and general disorder, and as such we would urge supporters to avoid the town centre and stay close to the ground upon arrival. Above all, stay safe and enjoy the day.
