Firstly, congratulations to Carlisle, personally i hope they don't go down, their support and their players were a credit to the third division today, In the second half i thought they were up for it more, and were certainly quicker to any 50/50 or any loose ball.
The first half today was a marvelous spectacle, for both sets of fans, and for any neutral watching, it had a touch of everything, it's just a shame the 2nd period didn't live up to the excitement of the 1st.
Although it's one of football's cliche's, but today wasn't a good day to play them, they are on their last roll of the dice, and boy did Carlisle show it, but what is slighty worrying, is that, if we do come through the play offs, every game in the 2nd, as it was last season, will become a pressure game and more like a cup tie, and as we saw today, lapses will cost us. But i suppose that can be addressed in the summer, for the time being, we have to concentrate on getting in these damn play offs. With games away at Huddersfield next week, who will need to win to keep Torquay of their backs, and then perhaps the biggest one, at home to Northampton on the last day. We could well have the scenario of having a play off game to get into the play offs, such could the situation be for the Northampton game, a winner takes all match.
I personally can't wait for next week, it'll be a full house at the McAlpine, with us probably taking something in the region of 2000 supporters with us. Our coach that we are taking is full, and hopefully we'll be coming back with the three points that will see us cemented in the play off picture.
Two games to go, hopefully 5 though, don't give up yet !!
