Mansfield manager Carlton Palmer believes his players' close-season fitness training will soon begin paying dividends for the Field Mill outfit.
Town's 3-0 home victory over Torquay at the weekend was their first win of the season, although Palmer is confident there are plenty more on the way.
He said: "I believe the focus shouldn't be on me, it should be on the young players I've brought in. I have total belief in them.
"Hard work always delivers in the end and they've been working extremely hard.
"Opposition teams are fresh right now and I believe the fitness work we've done won't pay off until 10 or 15 games into the season."
