Mansfield boss Carlton Palmer was back on the training ground on Monday after spending the weekend pondering his Field Mill future.
The Stags supremo blew his top following Town's 3-1 defeat at Chester which left Mansfield without a win in five games.
And Palmer left the Saunders Honda Stadium contemplating whether he should tender his resignation, saying his players' inability to defend set-pieces had again cost them dear.
"We spent two days practising defending re-starts and yet we conceded a goal after less than two minutes.
"What more can I do?"
But a Stags spokesman confirmed Palmer had decided against tendering his resignation.
