Although there was a poor turn out for the planned Palmer Out protest at the ground on Saturday, attendances continue to fall at Field Mill, sugesting that many fans are simply staying away from the ground.
Over the past two seasons, the corrosponding fixture has seen an alraming drop in the people attending the game.
Just two seasons ago, over 4,500 came to see the Stags triumph 3-1, whilst Carlton's managerial stint last season saw just over 3,500 turn up, and now following Saturday's 2,803 it is clear many fans who didn't protest are simply staying away.
Carlton said of the protest "I keep hearing that most of the fans are behind me and it is only a small section that want me out. I believe that and won't let them get me down. The majority of the fans are behind the players who are giving them their all."
