Mansfield boss Peter Shirtliff has blasted the Football League for failing to give him enough time to lodge an appeal against Danny Reet's red card at Barnet.
The teenager was sent off in the 71st minute of the clash at Underhill by referee Kevin Wright for a tackle on the Bees' Nicky Bailey.
But Shirtliff thinks Reet won the ball fairly and was hoping to protest against the decision after consulting a video of the match.
However, he was unable to meet the league's 12pm Tuesday deadline for registering his appeal - just three office hours after Monday's game.
It means Reet will now miss the rest of the season serving his three-match ban.
"It's very frustrating. I couldn't go ahead with it because I had not seen the video of the incident to review it," said Shirtliff.
"I asked for Barnet to send us a copy of the video, which they did, but it did not record properly and it was blank.
"I told them about the situation at the Football League - about what had happened to the tape - but they did not want to know and said rules are rules."
A spokesman for the Football League said clubs do not have to produce a tape in support of their case straight away. There is a later deadline for that.
Meanwhile, Gareth Jelleyman is set to miss the rest of the season with a knee ligament injury.
The good news is that Adam Birchall was training today following an ankle injury.
