Speaking to the Mansfield CHAD after the game, Stags boss Peter Shirtliff said "That was a tough game," "Rochdale played quite well and it wasn't until the 60th minute that I felt we really got on top of the game.
"I thought if we had got that second goal it would have been more comfortable, but it was never comfortable at 1-0.
"Full credit to my players. They got stuck in, battled and their defending was excellent and resolute. And we have managed a clean sheet for the second game on the spin which is good for the club.
"We could have been a bit more clinical in the second half and really killed them off.
"But we haven't won too many games 1-0 and we are going to have to do that sometimes.
"We are now starting to show some consistency. But there is no room for complacency."
Rochdale boss Steve Parkin: "If we had gone 1-0 up when we were on top in the first half it would have been a totally different game," "We were very disappointed to be beaten by a goal like that, but when luck goes against you it really goes against you.
"The goal came from Mansfield's worst corner of the match but I won't blame Rickie, the ball just ricocheted off his foot and fell kindly for them to score.
"I thought we defended excellently overall with two kids in there. They coped very well against a good old pro like Richie Barker.
"I also thought we should have had a penalty, but I've got no complaints with the players. They gave it everything they'd got. We've just got to keep plugging away to turn the luck around."
