Stags Boss Peter Shirtliff : "I'm delighted with the three points although we had to battle for them. There were certain aspects of our play I wasn't pleased with, but apart from the goal we conceded I don't remember Kevin Pressman having to make a save.
"We came out of the blocks well in the first half hour, which was pleasing after the poor start we made against Bury. I thought we played some excellent football at times in the first half and took our goals well.
"At 2-0 down Stockport made changes and we knew they would try to affect the game. To be fair to them they got the ball forward and their two front men were a handful."
Stockport Boss Chris Turner: "We are so inconsistent and the first 45 minutes were as bad as they were good last week. We didn't show enough fire or passion and didn't put Mansfield on the back foot in the early stages, although we had the best chance before they scored.
"I made two changes in the first half as we weren't at the races and our standards had dropped. I would have made three changes if I hadn't been worried about us sustaining an injury.
"We had a lot of the ball in the second half but didn't get enough good crosses in or enough shots on target to cause them problems."
