Shirtliff aims to get wins under his belt

Speaking to the Mansfield Chad, Shirtliff said "Three wins have moved Shrewsbury up eight places and full credit to them,"
"Three wins and you shoot up the table. That has to be the yardstick for us now.
"Don't forget we beat Shrewsbury comprehensively 4-0 at home. And we have turned in some decent performances and results since then.
"But at Grimsby on Saturday we had some good performances but still lost a game we were in control of for good parts and still conceded two goals."

"We had more shots at goal, more crosses and more corners than Grimsby so how did we lose the football match? It is partly the reason why we are where we are in the League.
"We are a talented side who are not winning games that we should be winning and there is a reason for that."

"I have expressed that to them and what I have said will remain private.
"They are not doing themselves justice. It is not a mental thing. But it is a part of their game that they are not good at.
"But they are good honest boys and I am sure they will take on board what I have told them.
"Some of them are looking a bit tired and I will make a couple of changes tomorrow, though it will still be the same 16 or 17 players."

A minutes silence will be held for goalkeeping coach Peter Wilson, who died just prior to the game last month, which resulted in the game being re-arranged for this week.

"There is a minute's silence in which we will remember Peter,"
"Then we have got to be professional and put that to one side once the game starts."
