Mansfield Town boss Peter Shirtliff has responded to reports linking him with a move for Halifax Town midfielder Lewis Killeen.
Newspapers have claimed that The Stags are preparing a raid for the 23-year-old striker during the January transfer window, but Shirtliff has revealed to Sky Sports that there is no truth in the claims.
"I went to watch Halifax a bit ago and somebody mentioned him - that's as far as it goes," he told skysports.com.
"I don't know where the stories have come from. I think it's just his agent trying to stir up a bit of interest."
The Stags boss did reveal that he is looking to strengthen his squad during the opening of the window, however, saying that he is hoping to sign both a midfielder and a forward.
