Mansfield boss Peter Shirtliff wants midfielder Simon Brown to sign a years extension to his current contract which has a year to run.
Shirtliff wants to keep the 22-year-old, who is currently recovering from a hernia operation, at Field Mill beyond the end of next season.
The Stags boss said: "He still has a year to run but we want him to sign for a further period which would mean him signing a two-year deal.
