Shirtliff unhappy with March

Last updated : 02 February 2006 By Editor
Speaking to the Mansfield CHAD website, shirtliff said "This TEAM Mansfield stuff is destracting from what I am trying to do at the club.
"I am trying to put a squad together capable of competing at this level and this week I have signed a Premiership player.
"But all the attention has been on this protest march. I do not think that is good for the club or the team.
"I don't believe it will affect the players on the pitch. But I think it is better for the fans to shout their backing for the team rather than the protesting against Mr Haslam.
"It doesn't help us. It would be nice if everything was rosy here and people were pulling in the same direction, supporters and the club.
"But at the end of the day it is as it is and it's politics and has got nothing to do with me."

Editor: Whilst we appreciate Peter's view that this detracts from what he is trying to acheive, and we are behind the manager 100%, Saturday is our chance to show Keith Haslam that we are ourselves are unhappy with over £1,000,000 leaving the football club for his own personal use. Surely Peter would be happy if that money was in the football club, enabling him to bid for more Premiership players. He needn't worry, once the march is over, we will be in the ground backing the team.
