Shropshire Star: Thursday 3rd August 2006
Shrewsbury manager Gary Peters today warned his side they face a major opening battle for his side by insisting: “Mansfield are much improved.”
After waiting six League Two matches for an opening victory last year, Town are anxious to make a flying start this time round.
On paper, a home match against a side who finished 16th in the table last season represents an ideal opportunity to do exactly that.
But after witnessing first hand the summer improvements of the East Midlands side, Peters is approaching the curtain-raiser with caution.
