After admitting to sending Chesterfield some 600 extra tickets for the local derby over the weekend, the Stags are now sweating on a meeting of the Safety Advisory Group (SAG) on Wednesday, to see if further punishment will be handed out, on top of the already in place restriciton of capacity at Field Mill, imposed following ugly scenes at the end of season home game with Barnet.
A spokeswoman for Notts County Council has today told the Nottingham Evening Post "We do consider this a very serious issue and there will be a meeting of the safety advisory group on Wednesday to discuss any action."
James Derry, meanwhile has stated that his bid to buy the club, could hinge on any decision to increase or decrease the capacity still further, and stated on local radio recently, that "The club needs the capacity to be back up to the full limit asap, we should have had over 9000 here for the game with Chesterfield, but only got 4,500. The club needs the maximum capacity available in order to survive."
