On the day about 12 of us travelled by train which was supposed to cost £15-10 but with a few words with the driver we managed to get them half price because of block bookings which central trains had said on the phone you could not do. We got the 9-41 train and arrived in peterborough for 11-35.
We hit several pubs including weatherspoons, verve and the peacock of which i would go to again because the beer was spot on, only problem we had was that we could not smoke in weatherspoons, so we went outside.

This week sees the return of the carling cup and the visit of stoke city. I'd love to see a cup run but if we play like that again it will be a walk in the park for stoke. Saturday sees a trip to boston followed by a night in skeg and then the first derby clash of the season 3pm on monday with the visit of notts county. I would take 4 out of 6 points 6 will be a bonus, but 2 defeats and the alarm bells will be ringing. You can read all about my night out in Skeg next Tuesday.
SEE YOU NEXT WEEK

I think fans have a right to ask questions now on the ability of manager Carlton Palmer to get this side to gel. Here we have some very promising young players, mixed in with a balance of old heads and experience, yet they don't seem to know one another at times, maybe they just need time, but we seem to take one step forwards then one back, and we now clearly have the manager falling out again with a player, it was only a matter of time before this happened.
I have to ask, do we have a mixture of players who are here as passengers at their last club, and some players who simply aren't up to the task, that is my own view, but i need winning over, and their biggest test will be the County game on Bank Holiday, win that and i think the current set up could win over a few more fans.
I drove down to Peterborough on Saturday as i was working on the Saturday morning, and managed to sneakily find a little side street to park on, it was a way from the ground, but we kept our mouths shut walking through the Posh support before and after the game.
The support from the 800 odd Stags fans was superb throughout, but this will only last for a short while longer before it turns to abuse if results don't pick up. I didn't have much voice left after the game, but the talk on the way home was all about how Palmer dosn't seem to have the respect of many fans and how long would he last in the job. A big week as i can't see us getting much at Boston, and as i say, the big game against County could prove to be his nemesis.
