Personally I can’t wait for tomorrow, the excitement is already building, and has probably been since the draw was made. Day’s like these don’t come around that often as a lower league fan, in fact as a Stags fan, only the trip to Cardiff in recent years has got this much interest together.
It is the afore mentioned trip to Cardiff, that I am most looking to get out of my system tomorrow, this trip to Newcastle is the first chance I have to bury some ghosts and demons from that fateful day out to the Millennium stadium. Most of you already know that I had took on the responsibility of booking 2 coaches for the day, and ran them both at cost only, for then to be repaid in kindness by a large repair bill for one of the coaches. Since then I have not took the chance to run trips again, therefore tomorrow is my day to enjoy as I please, and for that reason alone, I shall be enjoying myself to the full, and if you ask me now how I still feel about forking out for people being childish on the way back from Cardiff, well let’s just say that for those that caused the damage and will undoubtedly be going tomorrow, I personally hope your mode of transport breaks down and you don’t get to enjoy the atmosphere that the day will bring.
Do we have a chance of winning? Personally I don’t think so, let’s be realistic, Newcastle’s reserves would probably be good enough to see them through the game, add in the likes of Alan Shearer and we are talking different class. Cup shocks don’t happen any more, certainly not on the scale that they used to many moons ago. We are all going simply to enjoy the day, there will be near on 6000 Stags supporters in the ground, and boy will we have a party, and what better chance to continue the fight against the current chairman, we have the platform, a nation will be watching and listening, in some form or another, let’s use it.
HASLAM OUT!!
I’ll have a full account of the day sometime after the match (into next week!)
